The power of repetition

MemoTrainer ensures that newly acquired knowledge will be stored in the long-term memory.

MemoTrainer is a unique learning method based on the principle that sufficient repetition of newly acquired information helps to store knowledge in the long-term memory.

Why repetition is needed? At the end of the nineteenth century the German psychologist Ebbinghaus discovered that people forget about 80% of newly acquired knowledge within 24 hours. Ebbingaus claimed that repetition was the remedy for forgetting. He formulated a rule of thumb for a repetition scheme that ensures that knowledge is fixed in the long-term memory. His research about the power of the human brain has led to the so-called forget-curve. This curve describes which percentage of acquired knowledge people still can reproduce in a certain amount of time. (1)

All you receive on certain areas of knowledge will not come any further than the short-term memory and is therefore lost after a short period of time. Your investment in following courses, reading books etc., 80% will get lost after one day and that is a great loss of time and money. MemoTrainer starts to repeat immediately after receiving new information so less study effort is wasted.

You know from experience that you have more difficulties with certain areas of knowledge than others. MemoTrainer deals more frequently with the areas of knowledge that you absorb less easily! >>
